West Virginia gas well explosion injures five

West Virginia residents understand that some occupations are dangerous. Individuals who work in those fields will take necessary precautions in order to avoid any accidents. Additional training or safety equipment will often reduce the chances of workplace accidents. When an employee is injured while working, they may need to seek medical attention and need time off to recover. The benefit of workers' compensation is crucial at these times because it will help cover expenses and lost wages.

An investigation is still ongoing after a gas well explosion in New Milton. It was reported that five men were injured in the explosion and are currently being treated at a burn unit. All those injured were working at the site. OSHA has begun their 6-month investigation of the site. Additional companies and independent companies have been hired to determine the cause of the explosion, what caused the gas to ignite and will issue any citation if malfunctions or negligence is determined.

Those workers that suffered any injuries could file for workers' compensation. This benefit will cover medical bills, rehabilitation, damages and pain and suffering. In addition, workers' compensation will also cover any lost wages that accumulated while the employee recovers. Numerous financial burdens could add up, and this benefit is essential not only for an employee's recovery but also for their personal and family life.

Workplace accidents not only affect those who are injured but also the employers as well. An investigation could result in citations, but will also likely lead to better safety measures being implemented. Employers not only seek to keep their employees safe but also want injured employees to recover properly and timely. By providing workers' compensation to injured employees they will be able to return to work fully recovered much sooner.
