Two-car crash kills one and injures three

West Virginia residents are aware of all the dangers that roadways pose. A distracted driver can cause great risks on the road and can cause serious car accidents. Texting while driving is a huge concern, and too many drivers attempt to multi-task while traveling on the road. This could lead to a driver missing a stop sign, not noticing a light change or failing to maintain a lane.

A two-car collision was recently called in to the West Virginia Sate Police. Two vehicles collided when one driver traveling with one passenger lost control of her automobile and crashed with another car containing a driver and a passenger. The accident occurred around 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 50 and Long Run Road. Emergency crews responded to the incident and assessed all four of the victims involved.

The driver and passenger in the vehicle struck were found in critical condition. Both were airlifted to the hospital. The driver that lost control of her vehicle did not survive the accident and her juvenile passenger was transported to the hospital for treatment of the injuries that she suffered.

The accident remains under investigation, but the deceased driver is presumed to be liable. If it is determined that the driver caused the accident, those injured could file a personal injury suit and gain compensation from the estate of the deceased driver. A personal injury claim could help cover any medical bills, rehabilitation, lost wages, damages and pain and suffering.

As this case illustrates, a simple negligent activity can lead to serious injuries or even death. Those suffering from the negligence of another driver should understand their options. Gaining compensation after an accident can help cover any financial burdens that result from such an accident.
