Three-car collision injures three

Residents in West Virginia are well aware that the winter season can bring increased traffic and hazardous road conditions. Car accidents can occur at a moments notice and could include numerous vehicles. It is important that drivers reduce speeds for weather conditions and avoid texting while driving. But even in an attempt to avoid a hazard in the road by slowing down or stopping, a driver could in turn cause an accident if the drivers behind them are not aware of the hazard up ahead.

A three-car collision occurred along Corridor G at around 3:30 p.m. near Parkway Road. The accident resulted when a car stopped abruptly causing the vehicle behind them to rear-end them. A third car traveling down the road crashed into the two stopped cars. Emergency crews responded to the accident. After assessing those involved in the collision, three people were transported to the hospital. All three were in the vehicle that rear-ended the firs vehicle. No injuries were reported in the other two automobiles.

Several lanes on Corridor G were closed while crewmembers worked on cleaning up the wreck. The investigation of the incident is ongoing, and authorities are not sure at this time if weather played a role in the accident. A person injured in an accident like this might have a personal injury claim. Compensation from the suit could be used to cover medical bills, damages, lost wages and pain and suffering.

Watching speeds is always important for drivers, but it is equally important to slow down or avoid driving if inclement weather causes roads to be unfit for travel. Drivers should always use caution when stopping, slowing down or changing lanes. It is important to utilize mirrors and signals.
