injured after crash involving two tractor-trailers

An accident on the roadway could occur at any time, on any day and on any road. However, the amount of damages resulting from a truck accident can be significantly higher than that resulting from a car crash. A collision involving two trucks not only puts the lives of the drivers and passengers at risk, it usually results in a large accident site that can close roads and pose a risk on other drivers, while emergency crews clear away any debris or hazards from the road.

An accident involving two tractor-trailers recently occurred in Putnam County on U.S. 35 near Shamrock Lane. Emergency crews responded to the incident to provide medical care to the parties involved in the crash. One person suffered injuries as a result of this accident. At the time of this report, the severity of that person's injuries was unknown. The large accident site caused U.S. 35 just south of the Buffalo Bridge to be closed for several hours. Emergency crewmembers worked to clear away any debris to ensure safety of other vehicles once the road reopened.

The report did not state the cause of the accident. However, a person injured in a truck accident like this one could have a personal injury claim if one driver was negligent in causing in the accident. A financial award from such a lawsuit could cover medical bills, lost wages and pain and suffering.

Accidents involving trucks can cause a large amount of property damage, as well as significant personal injuries. Not all accidents can be avoided, so it is crucial that drivers remain attentive and follow the rules of the road. Speed reduction and not texting while driving could significantly lower a person's chances of becoming involved in a automobile accident.
