Two-car crash in West Virginia caused by failure to yield

Motorists in West Virginia are very aware that they must share the road with a multitude of drivers. And while it is common the travel next to other vehicles, motorists must also prepare for the actions of drivers when a crossroad or intersection is reached. Driving defensively means watching out for the actions of other drivers around you and being prepared to respond appropriately with braking or evasive action. However, even the best defensive driver cannot always expect the negligent or reckless acts of another driver, making it difficult to avoid some car accidents.

This may have been the case in a recent two-vehicle accident in Brushfork. According to preliminary reports, this collision occurred at the intersection of Route 52 and Littlesburg Road when the driver of a Jeep Patriot allegedly failed to yield to a Chevrolet Malibu. Authorities reported that the Chevrolet had the right of way. The Jeep allegedly pulled in front of the Chevrolet, causing the two vehicles to collide.

Emergency crews responded to the car accident, and an occupant of one of the vehicles was reported injured. An occupant of the other was transported to the hospital for a status check, although he was not complaining of any injuries at the time of transport.

This incident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time. However, following the completion of the investigation, it may be possible to determine the cause and any liability in the crash. In addition, it often takes a few days for those involved to feel the symptoms of some possible injuries.

When a negligent driver causes a car accident, it is possible for an injured victim to take action. A personal injury claim could help the injured party recover compensation to help cover any costs associated with the incident, such as medical bills, lost wages and other related damages.
