Tips to reduce workplace injuries during the summer

While the summer months are typically the time of year when West Virginians go outside to enjoy the weather, there are some individuals who might not enjoy the hot weather. Some work industries, though, require employees to spend long hours in the sun and heat, making it unpleasant, exhausting, and even detrimental to the health to these workers. Because of that, it is important that employers and employees understand ways to reduce or prevent workplace injuries caused by the summer heat and weather.

How big of a problem is drowsy driving in the United States?

It's not uncommon to want more sleep. And for many West Virginia residents, lack of sleep can be detrimental to their personal and professional lives. While being tired at work or during a child's soccer game is unlikely to result in major consequences, being tired behind the wheel of a motor vehicle can be dangerous for the driver, their passengers, and other travelers on or near the road. Whether it is during the night or the day, drowsy driving could be the cause of a serious or fatal car crash.

Emphasizing motorcycle safety awareness this month

With spring in full swing and summer around the corner, more and more motorcycles can be seen throughout West Virginia across the country. While this increase in motorcycles means that more residents seek to enjoy the nice weather, it also means an increase in motorcycle accidents. Because of that, the month of May has been designated as motorcycle safety awareness month. This not only helps highlight the safety measures motorcyclists can take but also emphasize the importance for motorists to have motorcycle awareness.
