Car accident in West Virginia kills two and injures several

Drivers in West Virginia understand that inclement weather could create dangers on the roadway. Although spring is technically here, drivers should still be aware that snow and ice could be present. If a vehicle is traveling too fast for conditions, they could lose control of their vehicle while traveling on the roadway or attempting to stop or maneuver. This could ultimately lead to a multi-vehicle collision, involving serious injuries, severe damages and even fatalities.

Authorities in West Virginia were recently dispatched to a fatal accident involving multiple vehicles. The fatal automobile collision occurred during a whiteout on Interstate 81 in Martinsburg. The dangerous snowy conditions caused a serious crash to ensue, which involved approximately 49 vehicles. According to reports, 13 of those vehicles were tractor-trailers.

The snowstorm accident involved two fatalities. Several victims suffered injuries, and they were transported to the hospital for medical attention. Authorities are still investigating the crash and have yet to establish whether a motorist caused the crash.

If a driver was traveling too fast for condition, they could lose control of their vehicle and collide with other automobiles. That driver or drivers could be liable for some or all of the resulting injuries, fatalities and damages. Those affected might have a case of action against a negligent driver. The loved ones of a deceased party could file a wrongful death claim in order to gain compensation for their loses. Those injured could also seek a monetary award through a personal injury claim.

Bad weather could easily cause roadways to become dangerous. Drivers should always adjust their driving or avoid roads during inclement weather. When a multi-vehicle crash occurs due to negligence and hazardous weather conditions, those affected in the accident should understand whether they have a course of action. This could significantly help them with any resulting financial hardships from the crash.
