Intersection collision in West Virginia injures two

When a driver is even slightly distracted or inattentive many lives could be put at risk. In addition to putting their own life in danger, distracted and inattentive drivers are endangering their passengers and others traveling on the roadways. Negligent behaviors could lead to speeding, swerving and going through a red light or stop sign. Any of these could result in an automobile collision. Those involved could be seriously injured or killed, and the crash could result in severe damage and road closures.

A serious car crash caused a major road to shut down in Fayette County recently. Emergency crews were dispatched to an accident that occurred on Route 16 in Glen Jean. Two cars were involved in the collision that took place at 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 16 and Wood Mountain Road.

Two people were transported to the hospital following the accident. It was not reported what vehicle they came from and the seriousness of the injuries they suffered where not reported. The West Virginia State Police were investigating the crash and made no speculations of the cause.

Intersections can be very dangerous to travel through. When a driver fails to stop, yield, signal or reduce speeds they could collide with another vehicle. If a driver was negligent and caused an accident, they could be liable for the resulting injuries and damages.

A person injured in an automobile collision could file a personal injury claim. This could result in compensation being awarded. This monetary award could be used to cover the resulting expenses from the incident, such as medical bills, lost wages and damages.

There are numerous things a driver could do to prevent an accident from occurring, but it is difficult for all drivers and passengers to protect themselves from a negligent driver. Those injured or affected by a negligent or distracted driver should understand that they might have a cause of action.
