Two West Virginia firemen recovering after work accident

Some jobs seem daring and exciting to some, but in most cases, these jobs are also very dangerous. Firefighters, police officers and emergency crewmembers put their lives in risk everyday in order to save the lives of others. Although it is considered a highly rewarding career, these occupations can be very risky and an on-the-job injury could seriously affect the life and career of the worker.

Two volunteer firefighters in Roane County are still recovering from a work accident. According to reports, the two were injured when they were involved in a rollover accident when they were en route to a call. It was suspected that the slippery roads due to heavy rain caused the tires of the fire truck to slide off of the pavement. The truck rolled over and landed on its top.

The firefighter's avoided life-threatening injuries, and the two injured in the crash are expected to recover. Following a work injury, an injured worker could file for workers' compensation. This could cover the costs associated with the work accident, such as medical bills, rehabilitation, damages and lost wages. Alleviating the financial burdens of the work accident could also allow the worker to recover fully and properly.

Being involved in a workplace accident can be a scary event to go through. The injuries could be severe and life-altering. It is important that the worker's rights and interests are protected and they understand the possible options. Gaining a better understanding about filing for workers' compensation could be very beneficial if a worker is unsure about how to go through the process.
