Pharmacy student recovering after truck accident in West Virginia

Following a serious accident, victims often face daily struggles. Additionally, their friends and family members could also be impacted by the accident as they offer their support and help the loved one through their recovery. A truck accident often leaves the vehicle and its occupants severely affected. The massive vehicle could seriously injure a driver or passenger, which could mean long-term medical care.

A pharmacy student in West Virginia is still recovering from a truck accident she was involved in four months ago. The student, who is a native of Florida, was seriously injured on her way home to Florida in early May for her summer break. The young woman never made it to Florida but found herself in the hospital after a semi-truck collided with her vehicle.

The truck brushed up against her car, but the young woman was able to stay on the road. The truck then hit her car a second time and caused the automobile to go over the median and crash head-on with a FedEx truck. The injuries she suffered have required her to go through intensive recovery measures. After four months of physical therapy and medical treatment, she is finally able to return to school.

When a person is injured by a truck driver, the victim could file a personal injury claim against the driver if the driver was negligent. Moreover, the suit could also name the truck company and its insurance company. The suit could result in compensation to cover the costs associated with the accident. In most cases, expenses that may be covered include medical bills, rehabilitation and pain and suffering.

A serious truck accident often means a long road to recovery. Even after a person is able to carry out normal daily activities, they might still need routine medical checkups and medical care. This means that the expenses will continue to pile up. Filing for compensation can help with both the current and future costs the accident caused.
