Two-car collision results in car being cut open to free injured

Accidents can happen at anytime and anywhere in Easton. Drivers are not always aware of their surroundings, which could result in an accident. Intersections can be very busy, and when a driver is not paying attention or is on their phone calling or texting, they may not notice a sign or a signal. This could cause a car accident, resulting in serious injuries and severe damage to the vehicles involved.

A two-car collision occurred on Harper Road outside of Beckley. At around 12:40 p.m., the accident occurred in the intersection of Harper Heights Road and Harper Road. When emergency crews arrived at the scene of the crash, first responders had to cut a vehicle to extricate at least one person involved in the two-car crash. Those that were injured were not in critical condition, and did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.

The collision is still under investigation, and the cause of the crash has not been determined. Much detail about the accident was not reported at this time, and the number of people injured and their status is not know at this time either.

A person injured in a collision like this could file a personal injury claim. Compensation from the lawsuit would go towards medical bills, damage and pain and suffering. In some collisions, the amount of damages might outweigh the injuries. In the case of this incident, a vehicle had to be cut. That would require the replacement of the vehicle, but would be dependent on the circumstances surrounding liability.

Accidents cannot always be prevented, but the chances of being in a crash can be reduced by watching speeds and avoiding distracting activities. Drivers should avoid texting while driving and follow signs and signals at intersections.
