Head on collision sends two to the hospital

High traffic roadways are filled with vehicles of various sizes in a rush to get to their destinations. When a car accident occurs, not only could serious injuries and severe damages result, but there can also be a resulting increase in traffic. Traffic could be backed up for miles and for hours while emergency crews tend to the scene of the accident. Drivers could become angered because of this delay. It is important that drivers remain calm during traffic caused by an accident in order to prevent another accident from occurring.

A collision occurred on Interstate 79 near South Fairmont. The accident occurred around noon and happened when a vehicle traveling south in a northbound lane on the Interstate struck another vehicle head on. Emergency crews responded to the incident and assessed those involved in the crash. Crews had to work hard to get both drivers from their vehicles because they were trapped inside. Both drivers were transported to the hospital and the man that stuck the other vehicle was flown to the hospital for his critical injuries. While emergency crews worked to extricate the drivers and clear the road from the wreck, local traffic was backed up for hours.

The collision is still under investigation and, at this point, it is not known whether any charges have been filed. A person injured in a crash like this might be able to file a personal injury claim. Because the accident caused serious injuries and damages, compensation from the suit could go toward those expenses and any other financial burdens that resulted from the incident.

Being involved in an automobile accident can be life altering. It is important that drivers remain attentive while driving so they can follow any posted traffic signs and signals. Texting while driving is very distractive and can be very dangerous.
