Two injured after a collision between a truck and an ATV

Accidents can occur with various vehicles of different sizes. A truck accident can cause much damage to the other vehicles involved in the collision due to their large size. Vehicles such as ATV's and motorcycles pose an additional risk to their drivers and passengers because they are not confined within the vehicle. Being thrown from the vehicle is more likely and serious injuries or even death and ensue the collision. Even when the riders are wearing helmets, being thrown off an ATV or motorcycle can cause the rider to suffer several injuries.

A collision between a pick-up truck and an ATV occurred in the afternoon in Coalton on Christmas Day. The crash happened in front of Coalton Elementary School and sent two people to the hospital. The driver was ejected from the ATV after the pick-up truck struck the vehicle. The collision caused the truck to roll, break a telephone pole and smash into a split-level fence. The driver of the truck was able to crawl out of his vehicle. Drivers of both vehicles suffered injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment.

Details surround the accident as well as the cause of the incident are still being investigated. No charges have been filed at this time. A person injured in a collision like this might have a personal injury claim to cover the medical bills incurred from the incident. In addition, compensation from the claim could go towards rehabilitation, damages, lost wages and pain and suffering.

Not all accidents can be prevented, which is simply why they are called accidents. Even when all safety precautions are met, injuries can still ensue after an accident. Drivers should always watch their speeds, travel at a safe distance from other vehicles and avoid texting while driving. Drivers should be attentive of smaller vehicles such as ATV's and motorcycles because they could be hidden by a blind spot.
