Two killed in a collision with a tractor-trailer

West Virginia locals and residents across the nation understand the importance of road safety. A fatal car accident can occur suddenly and result in tremendous damage and lost lives. Practicing safe driving is important, especially during times of increased traffic. Drivers should always watch their speeds and avoid texting while driving. It only takes a moment to trigger the cause of an accident so it is crucial that drivers always wear their seatbelts and remain attentive the entire duration of time that they are behind the wheel.

An early morning accident occurred on a West Virginia highway recently. The accident involved two vehicles and occurred when the driver of a car was driving the wrong way. The car collided with a tractor-trailer and resulted in two fatalities. The two women in the car were killed in the two-vehicle collision. The amount of damage or injuries to the truck driver were not reported, but the large accident scene caused the highway to shut down for hours while emergency crews tended to the parties involved and cleared the road of any hazards.

The incident is still under investigation. The damages to the truck and any injuries suffered by the truck driver could result in a personal injury suit. The claim would assist with any medical bills, lost wages, damages and pain and suffering that occurred. The family of the deceased passenger might have a wrongful death claim due to the negligence of the driver driving in the wrong direction. Compensation from that claim would assist them with funeral costs, lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering.

Accidents can occur very suddenly, which is why it is crucial to remain attentive when behind the wheel. Texting while driving posses serious risks and could cause a fatal car accident. Drivers should avoid any distractive activities.
