Late night car collision results in fatality

Driving in the late hours of the night can at times be more dangerous than traveling during the daytime. The risk of a car crash is not only heightened because of low visibility, but also because many drivers will still operate their vehicles while tired. In addition, when car accidents occur during the night hours, the injuries and damages can be more severe because of the dark environment, making it hard to see and a challenge to regain control of the vehicle.

A late night fatal automobile accident recently occurred about four hours northwest of Raleigh, in West Virginia.. The car crash happened shortly after midnight when a SUV with New York plates was traveling northbound on the West Virginia Turnpike. The SUV containing nine passengers ran off the road, which caused the vehicle to hit a sign and cross the median into the southbound lane. The SUV then crashed into the guardrail, causing injuries to several passengers and one fatality.

The cause of the accident is still unknown and is currently being investigated. At this time, it is still unclear if seatbelts were worn or if there were any contributing factors for the injuries and fatality that occurred. The family of the deceased could file a wrongful death lawsuit. Compensation awarded could go towards medical bills, funeral costs, lost wages and pain and suffering.

Driving late at night can be risky to drivers and passengers on the road. It is important to be attentive and aware of the surroundings. Driving at night not only means that it is harder to see, but it also means a higher risk of tired drivers who may not be able to safely operate a vehicle.
