Our founding attorney, Stephen New, has lived in southern West Virginia his entire life. He grew up in Gilbert where his father was a coal miner and his mother was a school teacher. He earned his bachelor's degree from Marshall University in 1994 and went on immediately to earn his law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law in 1998.
He was one of only 10 people in his law school class to be awarded entry into the Order of Barristers, a national honorary organization which recognizes excellence in trial and appellate advocacy in Moot Court competitions.
Mr. New put himself through school by serving in the Army National Guard and working in the coal mines over the summer.
